Joanne brings with her a wealth of experience spanning more than ten years in staffing and management roles in the health and social care sector. As someone who has first-hand experience of the challenges involved in ensuring that staff receive the necessary training, she has made it her mission to provide exceptional training solutions that are both accessible and effective.
Sheena, a qualified nurse and midwife, became a postgraduate lecturer before going on to serve as a senior inspector with the Care Inspectorate, gaining deep insight into the challenges of the independent care sector. Now, she works with Scottish Care to support independent care providers in delivering quality care.
With over 30 years’ experience, Catherine has a broad working history in local authority, 3rd and private sectors in care delivery and protection arenas, combining academic experience and knowledge with first hand experience of a variety of roles.
Dawn has 20 years experience of delivering training in Adult Health & Social Care, and a further 10 years of front line delivery of services in a variety of roles from Support worker through to Manager. She is passionate about creating a learning environment that is supportive to participants and equips them with skills to successfully support individuals they provide care and support to. Dawn lives in the Scottish Borders having moved there 27 years ago. Her ideal day would be wandering along a deserted beach…. but preferably a warm one!
Paula has worked in the care sector for almost 20 years, in Learning and Development as well as within care services. Paula brings a wealth of information to each course, both from an educational, as well as a practical perspective.
Mary has been involved in First Aid for more than 30 years and has a wide range of real-life experience in using it. She started in a nursing home looking after her communities’ elders, to working with the NHS and eventually became a Police Constable with Police Scotland. She has 4 years experience as a Foster Carer whilst also teaching first aid. Mary strives to create training spaces that are accessible, inclusive and welcoming to all, regardless of their experience. We want everyone to leave the courses feeling confident in the skills they have gained.
Kayleigh has had a rewarding career journey, starting as a Pharmacy Technician and progressing to become a Registered Nurse, Clinical Supervisor and Service Manager. This extensive experience has uniquely positioned her to deliver focused training within clinical and care settings.
Her dedication to achieving the highest quality care through effective communication and collaboration has been a hallmark of her career. Kayleigh’s passion lies in training and passing on knowledge in complex care services to maintain high standards among colleagues within clinical and care settings. She has collaborated extensively with the Local Authority and other providers, which has enriched the content of her training, providing a holistic perspective.
Her expertise in medication administration, problem-solving, and delivering person-centred care, makes her uniquely well-prepared to deliver impactful training tailored to the clinical and care environment.
